World Inferno at Brooklyn Bazaar

This was my second show of the night. I ran from I the Mighty at Irving Plaza in Manhattan to World Inferno at Brooklyn Bazaar. I was lucky it worked out so well. I the Mighty played early enough at their show that I was still able to get to Brooklyn Bazaar even before Inferno went on, which ended up being past 11:15.

There was a drag show going on downstairs at Brooklyn Bazaar while Inferno was upstairs. It was hot af in the venue, so I was sweating before they even came on. During the show though was so hot, oh my god it was terrible.

Tattoos Fade

Tarot Americaine

I got punched during either “Tattoos Fade” or “Tarot,” I don’t remember which. Not intentionally obviously, but I was in the front, so danger zone.

Me v Angry Mob

Doug walked past me when the song started, saying something along the lines of, “You’ve been summoned.” Of course I was on top of the pyramid. I kinda fell once and then got back up.

The most perfect timing, at the end of the song during “I miss you bastard,” all of a sudden Hilary’s hugging me. Felt like I hadn’t seen her in a while.

The Models and the Mannequins
Thumb Cinema
I Wouldn’t Want to Live in a World Without Grudges
This Packed Funeral
Lust for Timing

Velocity of Love
Freedom is a Wilderness

This was one of the new songs. It sounded vaguely familiar, but I couldn’t tell if I didn’t know it or it just sounded… bad. Probably both.

A Night in the Woods

Me and the Mad Monkettes

Hadn’t seen this song in a WHILE.

Peter Lorre

“Peter Lorre” live always makes me happy.

Just the Best Party

Let’s Steal Everything
All I Can Do to Help You with your Nightmares is Keep You Up Late
New song???

There were two other new songs that didn’t sound as familiar as “Freedom is a Wilderness.” I didn’t think I knew them. “Nightmares” was one and I couldn’t tell ya what the other one was.

My Ancestral Homeland New Jersey

I was surprised they closed with “New Jersey” and not “Zen” like they normally do.

World Inferno

Someone walked up to Whitney at one point in the night and asked completely seriously about Josh and Scott: “Hey, are those two dudes being dicks? I can’t tell…”

Whitney: “Yes, they are, but also it’s fine.”

I love those dicks tbh

Okay and can I talk for a second about how Scott goes to every single show, and complains the entire time. I don’t blame him, I just think it’s really funny. He literally talks about how awful they are between dancing, and when they left the stage before the encore, he made a joke about hoping they didn’t come back. I love it, it’s so dumb.

Fun show as always. Last one in NYC until Hallowmas. We’ve been so spoiled lately with shows.

Lindsay Marshall

One time I sneezed and Billie Joe Armstrong blessed me.
