Phantoms and Fables

Phantoms and Fables is a local New York band. One of my longtime friends I met through I the Mighty, Corey Counsell, is the drummer. They were playing a show at Gold Sounds in Brooklyn to celebrate the release of their brand new EP, The Space Between.

Corey gave me the biggest hug when I walked in the venue in the back of the bar. It had been a while since I last saw him, and now that I live in New York, we gotta make that happen more often. It made me really happy to be there.

Another ITM friend Marion jumped in front of me at one point and I screamed, giving her a hug too. It was so good to be reunited with my fam. I love these people.

One of the opening bands was called Zombie Sundae. I think I got there during their last song.

Phantoms and Fables mostly played songs from their new EP. Corey screams at the end of one of the songs.

They also covered Lit’s “My Own Worst Enemy” and My Chemical Romance’s “I’m Not Okay.”

I really enjoyed them, they were a lot of fun. And ya know, the drummer’s a pretty cool dude, too.
