Lakes at Coney Island Baby

So I have officially moved to New York City, which means I have to find new local bands I’ve never heard of before.

First show of the year and first show in my new home was at Coney Island Baby in Manhattan. Don’t let the “Coney Island” deceive you. I almost did.

It’s super tiny, just a bar with a stage. The Longshot played here over the summer. I can’t even imagine how packed that was.

Lakes consists of John Gallagher Jr. on drums, who played Johnny in American Idiot on Broadway, and Libby Winters on lead vocals and guitar, who was the understudy for both Heather and Extraordinary Girl in the same show.

After Lakes was Tioga.
