Sonic Highways

Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways is the one with the HBO documentary series attached. Each song was recorded in a different city's legendary studio. Cool concept. Mixed execution.

The doc series is honestly better than the album, which is saying something. The songs are fine — it's Foo Fighters, they don't really make bad music — but the forced city-specific lyrics feel gimmicky. "Something From Nothing" rips though. That one earns its spot in the setlist.
