Lachey West, former drummer of Maniac // current drummer of Australian bands the Griswolds and the Vines, is back on the phone with Shawn, talking about guitars today. Lachey teaches Shawn a “naughty chord,” and they talk about the incredible venn diagram center between Michael Jackson and Van Halen that is “Beat It,” before Shawn delves into guitar-doubled-with-MIDI world on their collaboration track. And then while the fingers are nimble, Shawn does a similar doubling trick for a cameo on Tim de Vil’s album, with the use of a cassette recorder.
